Sports Carnival.... : )

Its finally over....

The Inter Faculty Futsal Competition....its finally over.

This was a small project the Football Club tried to do for this semester. Its been years since we've had a futsal/football competition here in Swinburne. The last i know of was back in 2006.

A vision of a President..

Being the Organising Chairperson I had put a lot amount of time and dedication towards this event. The project was actually an idea made by our friend, Allahyarham Awang Abdul Hafidz @ Apeet, who was suppose to be the President for this years Football Club, and he still is. Apeet had dreamt of making a competition...so we did our best to make his dream come true.

Planning

Initially the team started planning for this competition sum where at the end of July...but we stopped in the middle of the semester due to Ramadan and stuffs. Then in the middle of the semester the idea of making a Sports Carnival was proposed by the Sports Officer of our uni. The Carnival was suppose to include other sports such as Badminton, Basketball, Ping Pong, Paintball,Telematch and Futsal. We didn't want to join the Sports carnival at that time coz there was a major guideline for all sports; its inter-Faculty. Which means students had to play among students from their respective program only; Engineering, IT/Multimedia, Business etc. Unfortunately unlike most university that I've visited, the residents of our uni does not only mingle among their classmates, but with students from other Faculty as well. I myself have more friends in Engineering compared to my Multimedia program. But eventually we were forced to do it any way...so there we were continuing our preparation.

The competition was suppose to be done in October but due to the inexperienced of others from the Admin. side we were forced to postponed the whole thing to November.

I had to admit that with all the sudden changes...and the lack of support from others, I was kinda stressed out by the Competition. Eventually it was just me doing all the work by the end of it...even though sum people did try to help once a while.

Any way...everything seems to sort out accordingly near the Competition day and the event went on smoothly. Every thing just went according to plan and that's good enough for me. : )

Competition Day

By the time entry dateline came there was only 8 teams participating from a total of 12 slots.
Two from Engineering, two from IT/Multimedia(my team!), one each from Accounting, Foundation and two from Staffs.

After our Telematch(which by the way my team won), the gang especially the Organising Committee went straight to Arena Sukan for team Registration at 3.30. Then the 1st match starts at 4pm just as scheduled.

Everything went very well and according to our schedule. We stopped at 6.30pm as soon as the Group Stage was over for Marghrib then continued again at 7pm with the guys Semi Final and Ladies matches.

Everything finished before 9. Here's the results;

2nd Runner Up
IT/MULTIMEDIA & Diploma A...YEAH!!!!!

1st Runner Up
ENGINEERING A....WOO HOO!!!

CHAMPION!
FOUNDATION

Of course i couldn't have done it without my Committee members... Apis, Shariman, Jordan and Elisha.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH GUYS!!!!

# I think its kinda ironic that a person who never played football in his entire life and only started playing futsal 3 years ago manage to organize a futsal competition... : p
