Welcome to the family NAZMI IZFARHAN!

This is my first nephew what was born in Kuching. The first child of my sister and her husband. Nazmi Izfarhan bin Nadzari. Born on 28th December 2008.

My sis had been checked into the maternity ward since last Wednesday, 25th December. The Docs said that she'll under go operation either that day or the next, but keep on getting postponed till Saturday. She was admitted into the Operation Room on Saturday night, around 9pm.

But he only came out the next day...12.30am laa...

There were complications that we heard off about the baby but luckily he's all right. And most importantly...he's a boy. That means I can hang out with him once he's grown up. : )

A Year Ago I Had An Accident...

Date : Friday, 28th December 2007
Location : Taiping, Perak

I was going out with my Pak Su Pian who I just call Pian coz he's 2 years younger than me. Been calling him by his name since we were kids even though he's my uncle. We rode on his motorcycle. I was the passenger since I i have no idea how to ride a bike. ; )

It was around 10 where we were coming back from Taiping's TESCO. I've been staying inside most of the days and since the whole family went out this morning, I've decided to go out at night too. Earlier that day the two of us with mak and abah jalan-jalan around Taiping. Visiting relatives and tourist attractions. Late in the afternoon me and Pian went to Sepeneh for some old skool mandi sungai.

The journey back to home took about 30 minutes as our kampung was kinda far from town center. By the way my kampung is in Batu Kurau.

As usual Pian was speeding at 100kph. It didn't bother me much normally as we would end up okay...but not that night. When we almost reached our kampung Pian hit a hole in the middle of the road. At that speed the collision causes the bike to threw me off the seat. But I did fell on the seat again but with only half of my ass on it....I was sitting on the bike with my right leg being drag on the road.

Pian realizing that I was about to fall off the bike tried his best to pull me up, and so did I. But that attempt failed miserably as we both lost grip of each other and there I go...

My world was spinning as I was rolling on the road at godspeed. This time I was worried about the injuries from falling from the bike. One time I'm looking in front then the next it was the view behind...front and back, front and back for countless times. By this time my worries escalates when I had the back view because there were was cars coming from behind...now there's the possibility that the car behind would hit me too.

After a few seconds I stop rolling. On the bright side I was rolling into the other lane, the incoming lane. So this means I wont be hit by the cars behind me. But then the incoming traffic might. But I didn't get hit by the incoming traffics. It was 10+ by that time and living in the kampung, during those hours no one goes out any more. People are just rushing to go back home.

I felt pain through out my entire body. Still lying down I looked at myself. My arms and elbows was bleeding, so I guess some other parts is too. The cars that was behind me stop directly infront of me. The drivers came out and approached me. They help me to get up. They took off my helmet too. Luckily the helmet prevents me from having any injuries on my face.

Then Pian came. He was OK. He didn't crash or sumtin'. Instead he stop bit further from where I fell. He asked me;

"Apasal ko boleh jatuh plak?"

I replied by laughing and giving him a gentle slap on his face. It was gentle, so he laugh with me too. Seeing that both of us were okay the drivers went back to their cars and drove off. Me and Pian on the other hand went to sit at the bus stop. I still felt pain through out my body. Took my shirt off and realize that the road scraped off a piece of my left shoulder and my left elbow. Bleeding on my fingers and toes as well.

Even though I was in shock, I still rode on the bike home. Need to go to the hospital as soon as possible. When I reached home, abah was outside the house taking some fresh nite air. He was more axious about my incident compared to mak. Maybe she's just keeping it cool since I manage to came back.

Mak, Abah and Pian drove me to Taiping's Hospital. No stiches was done as my wounds wasn't that deep. But It hurts like hell when the nurse was cleaning my wounds. The left side of my body was the part that injured the most. Therefore I could only lie on my right side when I sleep...and when ever I lie down, which what I do most of the time. THIS WAS HELL! I never felt this type of discomfort through out my entire life. It took me 3 days to be able to walk proper ly with minor pain and by the next Wednesday, I was in Pavillion KL shopping. ; )

This was the first time I had a serious accident with this level of injuries. Surely something I'll never forget through out my entire life.

And that is why I'm celebrating this day with the futsal event. To remind me that I survived the ordeal and to see that my body still works properly.

To see that I am still alive.

To remind me that the Almighty gave me a chance to live.

Ruff Edge - Jangan Berhenti

Yeah...I know some of you would start to burst into laughter by now. But yeah... I used to digg them.

Ruff Edge...

Heard them... like them... loved them... REALLY LOVED THEM... hated them...

Never listen to them ever again...till last Monday.

I heard a new track from the new line up...

Compared to some people... I 'listens' to a song... I don't just listen... I 'listen'... word by word.. And that very reason was why I kinda digg Ruff Edge's new material. The track kinda tell about their struggle after the "downfall". How they word hard to gain back what they've lost. The music is quite nice... soothing... They sound smoother than they've ever been. Which is a nice change. The lyrics is inspirational.... Can't wait for other tracks... and the album.

Good luck to Ruff Edge..

# I loved the last pic at the end of the video.... all 8 Ruff Edges... Perhaps they do get along?

And I said my holiday was boring...

So far I wud hafta say today was the busiest day I've been through;

1. Woken up by mak at 8.30 am coz sis had another medical check up at GH. Owh...my sis came back about 3 weeks ago coz she's at the hiatus of her pregnancy. So I shud be getting my new nephew in January. ; )

2. After dropping them off I went to Kaya&Toast at 3rd Mile for breakfast. Didn't get to have breakfast at home. Had a milo peng and a peanut honey toast.

3. 10.30 - Went off to Wisma Saberkas to send my printer to PC Image. A few weeks ago it was raining so heavy that a few part of the ceiling of my room leaked and of all the stuff in my room it hafta leaked directly on top of the printer. Go figure... Then mak called saying that sis is done with her check up.

3.5. I parked in Saberkas when I went there. Far end of Level 3B. When I wanted to leave I found that a pick-up have been parked a few feet behind my car. &*^# man! It tooked me 20 minutes to get out of the parking coz the pick-up was parked to close to my car. In my effort to get out of the parking I manage to leave a few scratches and dents on the pick-up... Serve him/her right.

4. Go pick them up at GH then went to Kaya&Toast at Satok coz they haven't had their breakfast. Second time at KT today.

5. Went to Wisma Satok coz sis had to scan sum document. Since my 3-in-1 printer was out of service she had to go to a cyber cafe to do it instead. Funny thing happened at the 1st CC that we went to... the owner wouldn't talk to me unless I took my cap off coz they had this 'No Cap' rule.. Bodo la..

6. Went to India Street, sis wanted to find sum stuff there. I didn't follow them here. Instead I went to Electra House coz I just realized its been years since I went inside. Last time when I was in Green Road I always go here after my Friday prayer at Masjid Jamek or Masjid India... owh the good old days..

7. Sis wanted to check out sum stuff at Poppies, coz I used to work there, so Spring it is. Meet sum of my old colleague and supervisor. Checked out the stuff in the store like the RM4000 baby stroller! Had lunch at Sugar Bun.

8. Last but not least, we went to Sarawak Plaza coz I wanted to buy an Action Base for my Gundam. : )

Our 'family outing' finishes at 6.30 pm where we all safely arrive at home, and an aching left knee for me...

1/100 Gundam 00

Hah haa.... I finally went on and bought it.

1/100 scale Gundam 00(that's Double O) from Gundam 00 Season 2. Initially I wasn't planning to get it till next year, but I was driven by envy when a fren bought an Astrea Type F yesterday.

That and the fact that I suddenly got enuf cash drove me to go and buy it. Bought it at a store in 3rd Mile, where coincidentally a Swinburne student work. Since I knew the guy, he gave me a discount on the gunpla. It cost me RM105, then I spent another RM16 to buy a couple of watch batteries for the Twin Drives on 00(yeah..this one got lights. A first for a 1/100 model).

I'm still trying to assembly the model.

Would post up the pics once I'm done.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I've never done this before but due to how eager I am to watch this movie I've decided to do a post on this movie. Marvels Comics is proud to bring you; X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

This is a spin off from the X-men franchise which is about the adamantium clawed X-Men, Wolverine. The story follows Logan @ Wolverine's history before his X-men years. So don't expect to see Cyclops or Jean or Professor in this movie coz the timeline is way before Wolverine met any of them.

But do expect to see other X-men characters such as a young Sabertooth, Deadpool, Gambit and Blob. The movie is expected to come out sum where in May 2009, which would be a month before another movie to look out for, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Yippeee! : )

Twilight

Just got back from watching Twilight with Farid. I never planned to watch Twilight actually but since E! channel keep on saying how cool this movie is then I've decided to check it out myself.

I kinda like the movie. Can't say its my favourite but I really like the new take on vampires... No stakes... doesn't burn under sunlight.. Super strength..speed.. Owh how I missed Buffy and Angel.

I remembered sumtin E! said bout how the vamps dresses in this movie,. I hafta say I kinda like how they look. Got sum old skool thing going on, perhaps because of the era they came from.

At the end of the movie I found out that there's gonna be a sequel. So at least there's sumtin to look forward to. After the movie me n Farid went to McD for dinner. Met Wan there and Ezra at Mojo. Haven't seen him since Raya.

Getting 'High' from Linctus

Yeah.. I do mean 'high' like what junkies always feels. I was sick since Monday but didn't bother to go to the clinic coz I thought the fever would fade away after a few days. But come Wednesday and the pain was getting worse.

I couldn't even get of my bed because of the sharp pain in my head every time I try to move. Even coughing or a sneeze would trigger the pain. I lost my appetite. Running nose... man....the state I was in. So later that day abah decided to bring me to the clinic.

We went to Klinik Bina, sum where near Choice Food Center. That was also where I was circumcised so I was hoping to meet the same doctor that turned me into a man coz that was the last time I went there. But instead that night it was a young gorgeous female doctor attending me. Heh...the sight of her made me feel a bit better.

Anyway I was sent home with a RM30 bill(which my mom paid for) and 3 medicines; sum pills for the headache, pills for the fever and my personal favourite... the cough syrup for the soar throat. The reason why I loved this medical concoction is because each time I take a dose, my head feels really 'lite'...if you know what I mean. Well... it did say on the manual that the concoction would result in drowsiness. And it did say that i was just suppose to take 10ml each dose instead of 15ml like what the clinic prescribe, so i guess i was over dosed. So the next day i've decided to lay off the cough syrup. Give it a day to detox then start again on the right dosage.

QUARANTINE

No...I'm not being quarantine for what-so-ever reason. Its a title of a movie I just finished watching just now. Movie Day today so I didn't want to waste it since its the only day in the week one can watch a movie for RM5. So today I've chosen Quarantine.

Its a movie about an apartment sumwhere in US that has been quarantined because of a biological contamination. The movie was from a first-person view based on the lens of a TV news video camera.

It started off with a news reporter and her cameraman following a bunch of fire fighters and the apartment's owner to a residents' house. This was following a 911 call that was made stating that the lady of the apartment was screaming in her apartment earlier that night. Then the story basically starts off from there onward. Before the residents and others had a to escape from the building the government suddenly sealed off the entire building...quarantined.

This would be a much better version of "zombies" @ "the-dead-biting-of-other-people-heads-off" monster. I've always enjoyed zombie movies ever since Resident Evil. The concept of the world infested with living dead and those who are still alive have to fight for their survival seems to be very intriguing to me. I wonder how would it feels like if we were to live in such reality....

Here's some of the zombie themed movies that I think are worth watching.

Exam week and studying...

This is my exam week. I'll be having my paper on Thursday, Transnational Marketing in the morning and eMarketing in the afternoon. Yeah...double papers.

The following day I'll be having a presentation for my 3D subject which is kinda like an 'exam' for the subject. HET208 3D Animation doesn't have a written exam but the presentation could be considered as one. So as i studies for the exams I'm still tidying up my 3D.

Then the following week I'll have my last paper, Communication Strategy. Initially I was suppose to have another paper on Friday, Interactive Multimedia but last week I've decided to drop that subject as I have not been able to participate in the classes.

The original plan was that I'm suppose to take 5 subjects this semester to that i could finish off everything this sem but I couldn't handle all 5 and even 4 was a bit too much for me. Therefore I wasn't able to attend my Interactive thus having me to make the hardess decision ever...adding another semester to my studies...

The thing that worries me is that... I think my motivation and will power to study have faded over the years...

Don't know if i have the will to study again.

"Haruka Kanata Naruto Live Action MV"...as it says...

I was surfing at campus when i realize that the blocked sites have been temporarily unblocked today. These includes sites like...Megaupload... Rapidshare ect... and of course YouTube!

So i without wasting any time I went to YouTube and started typing a couple of clips that i wanted to see...like the rumored appearance of Captain America's shield in the Ironman movie(which is true so its not a rumor anymore...).

Then I type Swinburne Sarawak in the search boz and couple of vids came up. Here's one particular that i would like to share with every one.

Its an assignment for a Multimedia subject done by a VidelIchiban which is about Naruto and stuff and some of the actors/actress in it are from Swinburne and i kinda know some of them.

Kinda cool since they were all dress up in the Cosplays and stuffs.

Enjoy. ; )

IMC Presentation

Just felt like showing some of the thing I did this semester. These were some designs that i did for my Communication Strategy's, IMC Assignment. The campaign was about promoting Sama Jaya Nature Reserve to the public.

Birthday Bash Banner

Car sticker

T-Shirt design

Storyboard for TV Advertisement(STAR Cineplex Lobby)

It was uplifting that at the end of our presentation pitch our lecturer said that we had some pretty good ideas that the other teams didn't think about.

Im kinda happy to hear that as some of the campaign/promotion tools was suggested by me. ; )

Prize Giving Ceremony

Sunday, 2nd November 2008

Finally had enuf sleep aftr weeks of staying late at night just to prepare for sum stuff for the Carnival and also my IMC assignment.

Woke up around 11 just in time for lunch. Then around 12.30 left house for Swinburne...today's the prize giving ceremony for the Sports Carnival.

I, like everybody else was told that the ceremony would take place around 1.30pm but instead what happen was that 1.30pm was when the thing starts but then there's the Badminton Finals which took hours to finish. by the time the matches was over the time was almost 4pm!

While waiting for the Badminton to finish I decided to taste Adi's infamous Spring Rolls, even tough i only manage to eat only 2 rolls as they didn't bought enuf stuff to make a lot. It taste ok-ok laa...

Around 4pm the presentations starts. We all were asked to be in line in our respective faculty. Mine was IT/Multimedia + Diploma. The they started giving away the prizes...beginning with Telematch...which we won undoubtedly... ; )

Telematch was the only game I entered as I was busy managing the Futsal competition. But my friends won other categories such as for futsal my faculty got 3rd while my Engineering friends got 2nd. They also got 3rd for Telematch.

IT/Multimedia + Diploma

Engineers..

Any ways this was the first time such event took place in our campus so the organization of the event wasn't that good. Seems like there were suppose to be a rehearsal for the prize giving.

On the other hand the Sports Carnival was a very interesting program for the campus. Unfortunately this would be the first and the last I'm participating as this(or next sem) shall be my last semester here.

Owh well...good luck to my friends lah.

Sports Carnival.... : )

Its finally over....

The Inter Faculty Futsal Competition....its finally over.

This was a small project the Football Club tried to do for this semester. Its been years since we've had a futsal/football competition here in Swinburne. The last i know of was back in 2006.

A vision of a President..

Being the Organising Chairperson I had put a lot amount of time and dedication towards this event. The project was actually an idea made by our friend, Allahyarham Awang Abdul Hafidz @ Apeet, who was suppose to be the President for this years Football Club, and he still is. Apeet had dreamt of making a competition...so we did our best to make his dream come true.

Planning

Initially the team started planning for this competition sum where at the end of July...but we stopped in the middle of the semester due to Ramadan and stuffs. Then in the middle of the semester the idea of making a Sports Carnival was proposed by the Sports Officer of our uni. The Carnival was suppose to include other sports such as Badminton, Basketball, Ping Pong, Paintball,Telematch and Futsal. We didn't want to join the Sports carnival at that time coz there was a major guideline for all sports; its inter-Faculty. Which means students had to play among students from their respective program only; Engineering, IT/Multimedia, Business etc. Unfortunately unlike most university that I've visited, the residents of our uni does not only mingle among their classmates, but with students from other Faculty as well. I myself have more friends in Engineering compared to my Multimedia program. But eventually we were forced to do it any way...so there we were continuing our preparation.

The competition was suppose to be done in October but due to the inexperienced of others from the Admin. side we were forced to postponed the whole thing to November.

I had to admit that with all the sudden changes...and the lack of support from others, I was kinda stressed out by the Competition. Eventually it was just me doing all the work by the end of it...even though sum people did try to help once a while.

Any way...everything seems to sort out accordingly near the Competition day and the event went on smoothly. Every thing just went according to plan and that's good enough for me. : )

Competition Day

By the time entry dateline came there was only 8 teams participating from a total of 12 slots.
Two from Engineering, two from IT/Multimedia(my team!), one each from Accounting, Foundation and two from Staffs.

After our Telematch(which by the way my team won), the gang especially the Organising Committee went straight to Arena Sukan for team Registration at 3.30. Then the 1st match starts at 4pm just as scheduled.

Everything went very well and according to our schedule. We stopped at 6.30pm as soon as the Group Stage was over for Marghrib then continued again at 7pm with the guys Semi Final and Ladies matches.

Everything finished before 9. Here's the results;

2nd Runner Up
IT/MULTIMEDIA & Diploma A...YEAH!!!!!

1st Runner Up
ENGINEERING A....WOO HOO!!!

CHAMPION!
FOUNDATION

Of course i couldn't have done it without my Committee members... Apis, Shariman, Jordan and Elisha.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH GUYS!!!!

# I think its kinda ironic that a person who never played football in his entire life and only started playing futsal 3 years ago manage to organize a futsal competition... : p

Four weeks have pass. Time goes by so quickly nowadays...

Raya is just in 2 days... But I haven't feel like celebrating it this year.

Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow or sumtin...

Been going out a lot for buka puasa with my frens.

Sum times just breaking at the new cafeteria...sumtimes we go out for it.

So far i've only went for 1 terawikh...and thats bcoz the Uni was having a breaking of fast thingy last Saturday.

Honestly i dont really feel like Ramadhan to me. It felt the same like any other month...which actually sucks.

It was suppose to be a holy month where i could improve myself as a Muslim.

But instead...

Any way me n a bunch of the gang went to arwah's kubur last Friday to recite sum Yassin and Fatihah to him. Haven't been there for quite sum time now. Its nice to know sum people still remembers him.

Ramadhan

Yey!

Ramadhan comes again. Hopefully I could complete the whole fasting month without any difficulty.

I hope I could stop from doing some sins during the month also, and start doing something I haven't been doing for quite some time... Insyaallah.

Can't wait to go to Bazaar.... 'buka puasa' with family and friends.

Hello 5320... : )

Nokia 5320 XpressMusic

Even though i didn't want a new phone...my parents insisted that I bought a new one that, in Mak's own word; "boleh polah kerja..." , which means a phone that could help me do some thing other than the old Nokia Im using after the lost which could only sms(not mms compatible) and call people.

This 5320 XpressMusic was bought at The Spring's NOKIA shop, as Mak also insisted that i go buy an original set this time. Plus this model was only available here as when we were in Saberkas earlier on all the shops didn't have them.

The cool thing about this one is that its super fast in terms of its system...doens't lags like the old 5700. Got a cool Say 'n Play function which enables the users to call out the name of the artist and song that the user would like to listen to and presto! That particular song shall be played.

I could finally use the Maps application as the website offers a free map download instead of using GPRS or WAP to download them.

Im giving an 8/10 for this one. Would be9 if it have WiFi.... : )

Good Bye 5700

Today...i faced a very hard reality. My lovable Nokia 5700 had been stolen.

It was stolen in my own house...by some one I barely knew...but he was in my house. Didnt go to work today bcoz of that. Me and mak had to go make a police report...then head on to Celcom to make a new SIM...and then to DiGi to see if they could get the details of the thief.

Later in the afternoon mak and my aunt went off to meet some one who is good at retrieving stolen items... and to make people suffer.

And I hope he suffers a lot....

So at the moment I am phoneless...

I don't miss the phone as much as I'll be missing all the videos and pictures I took through out the past few month which I haven't transfer to my lappy.

All the contacts and messages...

My mp3s..

Busy...

Wow... I just realize how busy I'm going to be this holiday. Got several things I need to settle by next semester...or at least try to get it done within the holiday.
  1. Work with David Ngui on his short films.
  2. Help out Drama Club with props for Tell-Tale Heart play.
  3. Football Club's Street Soccer Competition in August.
  4. Finish up assignments for 'expected-to-repeat' subjects.
  5. Photomedia Club's Greeting Card Design Competition.
  6. Astro-MSC ICT Competition.
  7. Remake a video project for its 2 Year Anniversary.

All that within July itself... Man... I'm so not gonna have any social life during that time. But I just realize I wont have any to begin with... since all of my outstation friends all ready went back to their respective towns by today.

No futsal and Movie Day for me.

Hmm....

FREEDOM!

Yeah!

Finish my exams... Now I can concentrate on my final year project thesis and the dvd.

Hopefully I could find some work to do during the holidays. Really need some cash... need new futsal shoes...

Actually I all ready got offered to be the 'boom-man' for some local film production. 'Boom-man' are those people who hold those furry things and hold them high in the air to capture the sounds of the actors and actress lines.

Yeah... I've alway wanted to start from below. Learn every thing from scratch.

This crappy Uni of mine did taught me what I needed to know.

I'll update more tomorrow.

Now really need some rest.

Selamat Pesta Menuai!

First of June came again…. Its time for the Gawai celebration. I’ve been waiting for this day since I went for last year’s Gawai. Wanna know why? Two words…'rumah panjang'.

One of my Dayak friends always celebrates Gawai at his kampong which happens to be a 'rumah panjang'. It’s a preety cool experience as I’ve never been to one. Last year was my first…now my second.

With Mr. Kee Kieng on the way to Tim's

This kampong happens to be an hour drive from Kuching city, that is if you’re using the shorter route. Last year we used a farther one and it took us more than 2 hour just to reach the place.

Arrival at Tim's kampong featuring Awang

Tim’s rumah panjang is kinda cool. Coz it’s one of those which have not been transformed into the modern rumah panjang which is made from bricks. Tims’ was all naturale… the bamboo floors…wooden walls… Last time there use to be a tree trunk stair but now it’s been replaced with a typical staircase.

Going up the long house

A different world...

Tim’s long house as Gawai as it can be. People dancing…Iban music playing at the background… the foods.

Group pic with Iban dancers and Tim(yellow shirt)

The foods served at Tim's (halal k...)

We went to 3 houses on the long house and another of Tim’s uncle on the way out of the village.

Reach town at around 9pm.

Tim’s was actually the 3rd visiting place we went to as earlier that day all of us went to Eve’s village some where in Kota Samarahan and then Anna’s house in Batu Kawa.

Earlier on at Anna's house

The one in MIAMI…

Had another performance on last Tuesday the 27th. Went down in a club called Miami. It was behind Hilton. It was supposed to be some local band thing on Tuesday and a friend managed to get some slots to play there. We were going to do tracks we’ve performed before like ‘Old Skoll Rocka’(DanceSport Party 2008) and ‘Journey’(Swinburne Carnival 2006) both by Pop Shuvit, so we didn’t really have to practice much. Just did one on Monday and another the day of the show. Another friend was performing for that gig and one of the friend’s friend too. I went first.

Mr. Dell n Mr. Bono during jamming

Jewl ma' man!

Jane!

Yeap....

I did manage to loose interest while waiting for our turn to go ‘on stage (there’s none…it was just a floor). We were supposed to be the 3rd but then since we were nobody we were put as the last to perform. Worse part was that we were put after some ‘big guns’ for the underground scene…like the Sarawakian all girl band from last year Blast Off, XO and a girl named Sheryl sum tin’…

Great, just what we need…performing after some well established band. I guest they performed around 10 songs…before we get our turn. By then I didn’t care much about the thing, just wanted to do my thing as fast as I could and go home. Finished everything around 12.45am. Went off with Kee Kieng and drop him off in campus where he park his car.

It was a better performance for both songs. I didn’t miss a single word from the songs like last time... : )

Had fun too since I thought I wouldn’t have another chance of playing with my all time drummer… ; )
